Rantakylä library moves, old library closed from September 4

The Rantakylä library moves back to renovated premises (Pataluodonkatu 2) in October.

The temporary library is open for the last time on Friday, September 1. The opening date of the renovated library is October 10. We will announce the opening times later.

Due dates and returns
The due date for all items borrowed from Rantakylä is Wednesday, October 11. The drop box for returns is open September 4–17 at the temporary library. Please note that the staff may not be able to process returns every day. Any items borrowed from other libraries have normal due dates!

Holds
You cant choose Rantakylä as your pick up location for holds until August 19. After this, the pick up location will be either Joensuu Main Library or another library of your choice. The library moves any holds waiting for pick up in Rantakylä to Joensuu Main Library on Monday, September 9. The main library is the primary pick up location until October 7.

Service
While Rantakylä is closed, you can use other Vaara libraries. The nearest ones are Joensuu Main Library and Lehmo, Karsikko and Nepenmäki libraries. In addition, mobile library Mysteeri has regular stops in Rantakylä and Utra.

Self-service library
Rantakylä library will also be a self-service library, i.e. you may visit it when the staff is not present. You can sign a self-service contract in advance in any other self-service library during customer service hours.
