Seagull warning at Joensuu Main Library

Despite many deterrence efforts, a significant number of seagulls and terns have nested on the roof of Joensuu Main Library this summer.

The chicks have now hatched and are learning to fly. During this period, the adult birds may defend their young quite aggressively.

Bird activity is especially noticeable on the side of library’s parking lot. The Koskikatu entrance is a little bit calmer. If needed, you can protect yourself by using an umbrella while moving through the area.
