Exceptions in opening times

All Vaara libraries are closed for holidays on following days:
Monday, Decemer 25 (Christmas Day)
Tuesday, December 26 (Boxing Day)
Monday, January 1 (New Year’s Day)
Saturday, January 6 (Epiphany)

Joensuu Main Library is open on Saturday, December 23 and Saturday, December 30 10–16 (10 am–4 pm). Please note that on Friday, January 5 the Main Library closes already at 16.00 (4pm).

The libraries in Kiihtelysvaara and Tuupovaara are closed from December 23 to January 2. In addition, there is no service in the Heinävaara library on December 26 and January 2.

Self-service libraries
You can use self-service libraries (with separate contract only) throughout the holiday season every day 7–21 (7am–9pm).

Mobile libraries
Some mobile libraries (the library bus) do not drive their routes on holidays and eves, some are on a longer Christmas break. See the timetables for details.

Interlibrary service
There is no interlibrary service in Joensuu Main Library between December 23 and January 1. During this times we cannot process new loan requests, returns or renewals. We apologise for possible small delays. There is no late fees for interlibrary loans.

The web library chat service is closed December 23 – January 8.
